Do you have a hard time getting your child to share his/her school experiences with you? 

Conversation starters:

  • What was the best thing that happened at school today?

  • Tell me more about that.

  • What do you think about that.

  • What makes you say that?

  • What did you learn today?

  • What is happening in the book you are reading?

  • Tell me about something you laughed at today.

  • How did Mrs. Bush show you how to do this?

  • Who did you sit by today?

  • If you could do today over, what part would you change?

  • AVOID YES/NO questions!
